TrackingTime is best described as a lightweight, yet complete, time tracking software.

We might receive compensation from the companies whose products we review. We are independently owned and the opinions here are our own.

After using it for a while, you’ll be impressed with how well it has integrated into your workflow without you consciously noticing. TrackingTime does everything you need without making a fuss about it.

For example, multiple reports are visible right on the dashboard that gives you a good sense of the current state of operations. You can see the hours worked in total, broken down by employee, on each active project, as well as how it breaks down tasks within each project. That makes it easy to reallocate resources to meet your deadlines on time.

We especially appreciate the full complement of platforms that TrackingTime is deployed onto. It has desktop apps for Mac and Windows and phone apps to match on iOS and Android. Employees can easily clock in and out from either platform and managers can be apprised of goings-on even if they’re out of office.

Beyond time tracking and light project management tools, however, TrackingTime is lacking. You can’t send invoices within the platform, nor pay on the timesheets you generate for your employees’ billable hours. It also doesn’t work if you don’t have an internet connection.

Who TrackingTime is best for

TrackingTime is useful for very small teams that only need time tracking capabilities – in that case, the free version might suit you very well. For slightly larger teams, TrackingTime is good too. The low-price point and flexible number of users is a pretty attractive for a wide audience.

TrackingTime pricing

TrackingTime is another budget time tracker, but it feels very competent compared to some of the other cheap options. There is a free version with basic time tracking abilities, but if you need analytical tools you’ll have to pay a per user monthly fee.

There is a free trial for the paid version, as well as a discount for paying annually.

  • Basic $0/month up to 3 users, time tracker, access to desktop and mobile apps, integrations, 3 active projects, and 100 tasks
  • Pro $5/month per user, pacing, time audits, custom reports, timesheets exported to PDF, unlimited projects and tasks

TrackingTime customer support

TrackingTime does not have a very strong customer support department. Your best bet to get in touch is to use the online chat feature on their website during business hours. There’s also an email address that you have access to on the paid version, but there is no help desk to call.

If you’d like to troubleshoot yourself, there is a deep pool of documentation in the form of blog articles to dive into.

Pros

  • Lots of integrations available on both the paid and free plan.
  • Customizable user count at a low price.

Cons

  • Doesn’t support sales or payroll features.
  • Very little customization possible.
